Tails vs Franklin Richards (Archie Sonic vs Marvel Comics): Round 1 Fight Blogs

"The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge, but imagination.” - Albert Einstein

Miles “Tails” Prower, the genius twin-tailed Titan and chosen savior of Archie Sonic's Multiverse

Franklin Richards, the cosmic and reality altering kid powerhouse of the Fantastic Four

We all were once children; a special kind of blessing to the world around us with unmatched creativity and even greater kindness. But what would happen if a child was to inherit the power and legacy of his universe's strongest titans? Well, they'd need to do a little bit of growing up first, but then, you'd get the most powerful kid you've ever seen in your life.

Round 1: FIGHT!!!

Before We Start…

Due to these characters being quite sporadic in what they consistently show, these two will be taken at their maximum capabilities in their own ways. Tails will get access to all of his forms, including his final state that is technically non-standard, but the culmination of his story and development, in a similar fashion to forms like Senketsu Kisaragi for Ryūko Matoi. This will also include various things from the games, as the vast majority are canon to Archie.

Franklin on the other hand will receive his powers at their peak despite having lost them in current comics (Well yes but actually no. You'll see why). This also comes into alternate versions of himself. While the main Earth-616 Franklin is the primary focus, he will also receive all the applications of his powers that his other selves in the same universe have, or that others using his powers have done. This would include future versions of himself such as Psi-Lord, and foes like Nicolas Scratch possessing his body and using his powers.

Also yeah, credit to Ultraguy's Archie Sonic notes during Trunks vs Silver, Bang's Annihilus vs Larfleeze, and G1's Phoenix vs Raven/Martian Manhunter vs Silver Surfer/Galactus vs Unicron.

Enough of that though, let's get into it!

Background

Tails

We're all familiar with Sega's blue blur, Sonic The Hedgehog. He's the fastest thing alive, one of the greatest heroes Mobius has ever known, and an unmatched hero to all. Always tailing right next to him however, is the little brother he always wanted, and the best bud he's always needed: Miles “Tails” Prower. A genius inventor with a heart of gold and speed to match Sonic’s, he has always stuck around as the best partner a hero could ask for. But in the Archie continuity, our twin-tailed fox was destined for more; much more.

Born to Rosemary Prower and her husband Amadeus, Tails was a fairly happy child. While his father had vanished, he grew up somewhat normal with his mother, until her own strange vanishing act. Despite his parents being gone, Tails still had his best friend, Sonic, who gave him his name, his shoes, and a reason to love his somewhat odd twin tails. So, when the evil scientist Dr. Ivo Robotnik took over the planet via a violent uprising, Tails joined the Freedom Fight with Sonic, and put his own speed/tech skills to the test. Even so, he would eventually meet Althair, the sagely grandfather to Knuckles the Echidna, who would tell him of his destiny.

As it turns out, Tails was chosen by the godly Ancient Walkers as the savior of the multiverse, which would ultimately come to fruition when all of reality was threatened by Mammoth Mogul. His absorbing the Chaos Force led to his becoming the master of all existence, and nobody could stop him…except for Tails. Fusing together with all versions of him across time and space, Tails became the Titan he was always destined to be, and foiled Mogul once more, restoring everything to that which it was. With his services complete and the prophecy fulfilled, Tails became a hero beyond the simple child most had seen him as. Even after a multiversal reboot, Tails still remained the hero he always was, and eventually found love and a family of his own decades into the future. From such small beginnings, to such great heights, it's no wonder that when up against such odds, our lovable little fox will simply smile at the unknown, and fly on to meet his destiny.

Franklin Richards

The Fantastic Four are one of the greatest teams in comic book history. The elastic Mr. Fantastic, iconic Invisible Woman, heated hero the Human Torch, and the ever-lovin’ blue eyed Thing. Their journeys into the mysteries of the cosmos are legendary, as are their many escapades saving it and more, but by far the greatest they have done is bear entrance to a cosmic force of creation. This being is one of the strongest forces in all of creation, but he is also their first-born son, and their pride and joy. His name is Franklin Richards, and he is the most powerful boy in Marvel Comics.

Years ago, a pregnant Susan Storm was fiercely gripped by Death's embrace, as was her yet to be born child. Due to the cosmic rays she and her family had gone through that resulted in their becoming the Fantastic Four, Susan was dying, and the only cure lay in the Negative Zone. Reed, ever the caring husband, retrieved it with Johnny and Ben's help, and thus, their son Franklin was born. While he initially seemed a normal boy, something was…off. One day, ants would do strange motions and tricks for his amusement. Another, he could summon a toy to his side; almost like magic. This was eventually revealed to be Franklin's powers; the kind that let him alter reality itself and play with everything like it were mere toys in his hands. Such was his power, that as he grew older, it was stolen, blocked, or sought after by countless others, yet it always came back to him. This is because these powers were no mere coincidence: they were in fact a rebirth of a cosmic force of order, that of destruction, and creation.

As it turns out, Franklin was born the living counterpart to Galactus; devourer of worlds. While Galan is the utmost destroyer, Franklin is the utmost creator, and a veritable embodiment of rebirth for creation. This is no mere coincidence either, as at the end of time, Galactus will fade; his energies birthing a new iteration of the omniverse, and Franklin will inhabit the next, as Galactus had before him. Even despite that, Franklin has always been much more than your average boy, and far more human than a God's power would seem. After years of feeling like he can not live up to the legacy laid out for him, Franklin has, bit by bit, built himself up to a hero he can believe in with the help of his fantastic family. With them at his side, there is nothing this boy can not accomplish; whether it be to stop the mad celestials with Galactus as his herald, save countless beings from The Griever At The End Of All Things (yes that's her name), or to live up to his destiny in whatever form it may take.

Experience & Skill

Tails

Despite being viewed as a child by many, Tails is no stranger to active warfare. He's been fighting Eggman's forces for almost his entire life, and is a veritable genius in several fields. He can hack

objects both in and out of combat, rebuild his own tech when it gets damaged like the Tornado, is claimed to be a high threat level to the Death Egg by Mecha-Sally, made a machine to harness a Chaos Emeralds power with Chuck and Quacks help, and learned Mega Man's systems fast enough to modify them to match Sonic's spin dash in a battle. Tails has hacked into a prisons technology and dismissed the artificial intelligence Nicole through doing so, worked with Rotor to become the genius he is today, figured out an island was a flying fortress when looking over its schematics for a few minutes at most, and even repaired the Robot Masters from Mega Man when they were damaged.

As an adult, he even built technology to protect his family from alterations to space-time, which did just that when King Sonic altered history. Outside of utilizing his intelligence, he's battled alongside top-tier soldiers like Sonic, Sally, and Knuckles, used his tails to grab the latter, and has even fought God's such as Mammoth Mogul. His destiny as the Chosen One has put him into contact with others of equal might, and he's used several techniques of Chaos Magic to keep up. Throughout it all, he's put that big brain of his to use in any way he can, and more than earned his place in the Freedom Fighters.

Franklin

Franklin has been exposed to the battle and strife of a hero's life since he was a toddler, and even when he was 5-6, he could think of ways to use his powers in complex ways far more imaginative than your average reality warper, including several ways to counter obstacles in front of him. In general, Franklin is credited as highly intelligent and intuitive and this leads onto just how good he is at coming up with solutions. He's thought of new ways for his father to use his powers, and thought to go into the Negative Zone to get a villain to help with a current problem, with Thing implying he's pretty smart/above-average for a 7 year old because he's Reed's son. Among other examples, Franklin has gotten alien invaders leave earth while keeping his driving teacher safe through telling him how crappy his planet is (true story), and after losing his powers, his creativity/Imagination made it so getting into thought-space basically made him a God again.

In terms of actual skill and smarts, Franklin has fought alien invaders alongside Ben Grimm and Human Torch, found out how the Mad Celestials powers worked in specific instances when other geniuses in the room didn't, has been mentored by his multi-millenium old self on how to use his powers and fix stars, with Reed saying they're simplifying it, and summed up the Big Bang with Valeria in a genius way for both that also got her thinking, and teleported a ship across spacetime which Reed initially was opposed to due to the brainpower needed in a sense. As an adult, he has claimed and shown he had Reed's scientific knowledge and used it to describe his powers, and even as a child, he's had an intelligent conversation with Valeria several leagues beyond children his age, and piloted a Hulk sized robot Reed made with her fairly easily.

Arsenal

Tails

Shoes

In the Archie continuity, the sneakers you see Sonic and Tails wear are not your average pair. Both are built with the energies of a Power Ring, so as to handle the incredible speed they move at. While Sonic's was made by Uncle Chuck, Tails got his from his currently hidden uncle as a birthday present through Sonic, as another way to bring him closer to his hero.

Tornado

Befitting a genius of Tails caliber, he has built several tools over the years to aid him in his travels, with his most famous being the Tornado by far. This biplane is fueled by a Power Ring, and has a variety of useful features, including…

Even beyond its many quirks, the Tornado is fast enough to keep up with Sonic, strong enough to damage an amped Iron Queen, and destroy one of Eggman's deadliest robots, Iota

T-Pup

T-Pup is a flying robot dog that Tails made to help him in his work, and a doggo that certainly embodies the phrase “good boy”. He can keep up with Tails in battle, and has several added features, like flashlights in his eyes that can also play data like schematics, and a nozzle that shoots electricity to disable/freeze technology in place, like Silver Sonic.

Bombs

Like all scientists, mad or not, Tails has had the foresight to stock up on a good old-fashioned explosive every now and again. This includes sleeping gas bombs, regular bombs, and even Neutralizing Mines for essential EMP's that disabled the weapons of an entire army.

Extreme Gear

As one of the many games that happened in Archie's canon, the premier vehicles of the Sonic Riders series have appeared in Archie just the same. Tails actually made these himself to help him and the rest of the Freedom Fighters keep up with Sonic on missions, and used them both in the comic's as well as the games, which was led into. Thus, not only can he use these, but the power-ups attributable to them as well.

  • Item Box - Just like the ones in regular Sonic games, except these have power-ups and tools all for Extreme Gear.

    • Attack - When collecting this item, one can hop off their Gear to run on foot, and more importantly, attack enemies at will.

    • Bowling Strike - Thanks to this technique, a racer can launch a bowling ball ahead of them, which grows to massive sizes as it runs down anything in its path.

    • Colorball - This Mario Kart Squid rip-off lovely item blinds enemies with colored paint.

    • Explosion - A bomb usable to blow enemies sky-high via rolling down the track.

    • High Speed - This power-up obviously boosts the speed of whoever gets it.

    • Invincible - Just like the version from the games, this tool summons a sparkling shield around the users body to make them Invincible for 10 seconds.

    • Octo-Boost - Rather than squirt ink and rip off Mario Kart yet again this weapon creates a rocket exhaust from its mouth to drastically boost the users speed.

    • Octo-Ink - My mistake on being a rip-off. This octopus tool squirts ink on the ground, and anybody unfortunate enough to ride over it will find their field of vision covered in the stuff, blinding them.

    • Magnetic Barrier - While using this, a magnetic shield will appear around the user to magnetize any rings they pass to their person.

    • Parts Lock - A powerful addition to any riders arsenal; this tool disables opponents getting new powers or Stat boosts

    • Rings - These golden tools from every Sonic game are just as present here, and can be collected in numbers of 10-100 depending on the box all around the track.

    • Soda Rocket - This summons a giant shaken soda can for its user to ride on for a large boost in speed.

    • Special Item - When using this power, the user gets unlimited fuel for their extreme gear and the ability to attack foes on the spot for a limited time.

    • Speed Down - When the user collects this, a giant ball and chain will snap itself onto their foes bodies, slowing down their overall speed for a time.

    • Target Torpedo - I'm not even making the comparison. This shoots a homing missile at a target and is totally original.

Power Rings

On Mobius, the Rings you see in the games are much, MUCH more. They are mystically linked to the Chaos Emeralds, and a byproduct of them. They can also be forged through technological means, not just magic, by geniuses such as Nate Morgan. For some general rules and quirks, Rings are usually indestructible, can be used as throwing weapons or conduits for Chaos energy, with some rings having different properties, like Warp Rings for example, and all radiate cosmic energy. Each ring has a limited amount of energy, but they can be used for all sorts of things, which Tails should be aware of due ti general knowledge about their capabilities. This includes…

Despite these versatile powers, the Rings are not full-proof. They can and have been drained trying to overpower greater feats of Chaos Magic, and they are not meant for using to achieve Super Forms unless by experienced wizards such as Ixis. As for how much Sonic or Tails or whoever can carry, Tails has used his fair share, and the main blue blur has used over 20, collected 50-100 to go Super Sonic with Ultra Sonic amd Hyper Tails coming about as a result of absorbing in excess of thousands of rings.

Chaos Emeralds/The Chaos Force

In Archie Sonic, the traditional Chaos Powers you see Sonic and the gang wield are a…bit more complex, to say the least. In actuality, their powers come from the Chaos Force: an extradimensional source of power both infinite and omnipotent. This same Chaos is utilized through the many rings and emeralds across the multiverse, and using either lets you harness Chaos Magic. While Rings may be plenty versatile and powerful, Chaos Emeralds have shown time and time again to be their superior, so anything a Ring has shown off, so too can an Emerald in greater force. After the Great Awakening, all the Emeralds in the universe were shunted into 7 core ones, to fit more in line with the game's design. Tails would thus use these to transform into his superforms, use Chaos Magic, and a litany of other tricks we will discuss later.

As stated several times, the Chaos Emeralds wield infinite energy, limitless power; and endless might. This also includes their other versions across the multiverse, like the Anarchy Beryl. They are “the most potent form of pure energy in all the universe” and magic in nature. They have self-perpetuating energy and even one single emerald has a limitless supply of power. These “Infinite Power” statements also apply to the Chaos made super-forms themselves, like Enerjak, Chaos Knuckles, Super Shadow, etc, and they they hold all the forces of the universe.

Franklin

Godpower

This is a fairly recent explanation on Franklin's powers and why they have been so sporadic over the years. While initially just a theory of Reed's, he eventually met Dr. Rachna Koul, a specialist in imperiumology who dubbed it “Godpower” and whose findings gave credence to it, as well as those of Dr. Doom. In essence, it is a hypothesized interdimensional source of unlimited energy that each and every superhuman in this reality is connected to, which fuels their godly abilities. An example of this is how the individual energy intake of every member of the Fantastic Four should completely shatter the laws of physics, warranting the belief that something was responsible for their unnatural and seemingly unending might. As elaborated on by Doom, this source is not generated by a superhuman, but instead travels through conduits in the mitochondria, and is virtually unlimited as a power source.

This does somewhat lead into Franklin's infamous power fluctuations due to constantly losing and regaining his powers, as well as his currently having lost them “for good” after expending all his leftover energy. From the findings on Godpower, it's assumed that Franklin has lost his connection to this source, and thus is running out of the energy he needs to use his powers. However, this is not a permanent case, and we know this to be true as the future Franklin states he would get his powers back after a little bit and he…you know, has his powers when saying so. In terms of what this means for Franklin, he has a pretty much unlimited power supply in terms of his powers reach and juice in a fight.

Abilities

Tails

Flight

Thanks to his iconic twin tails, our young Prower can fly through the air with little effort. He has engaged several people in midair battles, and used them to keep up with Sonic, per his own instructions.

Chaos Magic

On Mobius, those who harness the power of the Chaos Force can use a variety of special magic in battle or otherwise. Tails is no stranger, and in fact, due to his high intelligence/status as the Chosen One, it's likely he has a greater grasp on its versatility than somebody like Sonic. That said, the following will be an example of every application of Chaos in Archie Sonic, as they all originate from the same thing.

Energy Manipulation

Chaos Magic is absolute energy that can not be created or destroyed, and any Chaos wizard worth their salt can manipulate it to their will. Simple uses include blasting small or large energy attacks to more complex tactics, like infusing physical objects with Chaos to use them as weapons, deflecting blasts almost telekinetically, making energy barriers around one's hands, and atomizing rocks thrown at you. Even classic techniques like Shadow the Hedgehog’s Chaos Spear and Chaos Blast exist in Archie Sonic. This extends to even something like nuclear energy, given Chaos explosions have shared the look of a neutron, and Knuckles was exposed to radiation as an infant through Chaos energy, which makes sense, as later he could manipulate radiation to shut things off like an E.M.P. Among other miscellaneous applications of controlling Energy include…

Time Manipulation

With the might to control the fundamental aspects of existence, time is relatively easy to command for a Chaos sorcerer. Chaos Knuckles for example can bridge the gap between time and space and alter both easily. The same is true with other practitioners and techniques, like users of Chaos Control such as Scourge and Shadow. Super Forms clashing can bend time across an entire Zone, and Wily and Eggman’s own machinations through a Chaos Emerald bent time to make hours spent inside mere seconds in their home dimensions; let alone a new Genesis Wave through that same Emerald. Other specific usages of Time Manipulation include the following.

Space Manipulation

Through controlling time, its veritable sibling Space is certainly on the table. There's obviously the example of Super Sonic's clash with Hyper Knuckles warping space across a Zone, and practically all the prior examples of warping space-time with Chaos Control, bridging the gap between both, altering it like with Wily and Eggman, etc. However, you can do a decent bit with space in its own right, as has been proven by several others before.

Teleportation/B.F.R

With control over space, it's only logical that you can control it to teleport over vast reaches, and do the same to others. The Ancient Walkers, Ixis Naugus, Enerjak, Chaos Knuckles, Althair, and even a somewhat novice in Chaos like Scourge have teleported to wherever they want. In more extreme examples, Shadow has teleported to other dimensions and pocket zones in the multiverse on several occasions.

On the other side of the spectrum, multiple characters have utilized the potential dangers of teleportation through BFR; otherwise known as Battlefield Removal. Enerjak has stranded Knuckles in a desert, Mogul summoned Enerjak against his will through this, and Sonic/Tails/Knuckles were summoned elsewhere as well. The Ancient Walkers teleported Knuckles out of a room with them, multiple Echidnas/Guardians forcefully teleported Knuckles to their location, and Knuckles himself has warped possessions off others while Enerjak, or teleported multiple Echidna’s to another place in the form of Abilon.

Reality Warping

With control over time, space, and energy, calling a Chaos Mage “reality warper” is pretty fitting at this point. From simple examples of Dimitri stating he can re-fashion worlds in his image, to Super Sonic and Hyper Knuckles tearing apart the fabric of reality across that Zone. A.D.A.M has warped reality to give the area and more different looks based on time period, Feist with all seven Chaos Emeralds could shape and re-shape the Special Zone to however he saw fit, a Chaos Emerald was used by the Doctors to rewrite the very fabric of reality, affecting both their universes, rearranging time and space for their benefit. All seven Emeralds would allow Wily/Eggman to reshape their worlds to the tiniest of details, and stated they would erase Sonic and Mega Man from reality in the dreaded Super Genesis Wave. This ultimate attack rewrote reality across the entire multiverse and beyond to reboot the entire franchise…so yeah.

Elemental Manipulation

But a single aspect of reality is the elements that make up our daily lives, and the perfect tools for a growing Chaos Sorcerer. The best examples would be the villains Enerjak and Ixis Naugus, who have full control over the elements, with the latter being able to change his body into them at will.

Transmutation/Matter Manipulation

Manipulating the molecules and atoms of a being is child's play for one attuned to Chaos, with the most prominent example being Ixis Naugus. His mastery of Crystalline Magics has led to his being able to turn anybody or anything into crystal at will. He did the same to others and inanimate objects through deals or otherwise, even on the level of Titan Metal Sonic, and has been stated to have a mastery of this sort down to the atomic level. He also unintentionally reverted Bunnie’s bionics to her flesh-and-blood self while attempting to reverse his crystal's effects on her, which isn't too far-fetched when he has used a Chaos Emerald to stall his own bodily mutations. The ex-Ixis mage Mammoth Mogul has also reversed his crystalline magic, due to superior skill in that regard.

Another large example would be Enerjak, who literally took Knuckles apart “bit by molecular bit” and the Ancient Walkers even brought him back from that. Knuckles himself while Enerjak pulled a similar trick several times, and even reversed his friend Remington’s roboticization just like Naugus. Emeralds by themselves have been utilized like this, such as an Emerald speeding up King Acorn’s crystallization on a cellular level, a Super Emerald altering Sonic’s body when he was running around the world and later changing him to his more modern look, and an alternate realities Chaos Emerald mutating Mobians into Kaiju. Finally, the Super Genesis Wave altered everybody's molecules, which explains current appearances (and how everybody looks like game versions to adhere to Sega's mandates).

Psionic Powers

With but a touch of willpower, skill, and Chaos, any magician can embody the phrase “mind over matter”. The applications of this are pretty much limitless, so I'll list the ones we do know to give you a general idea of Tails capabilities.

Telekinesis/Energy Restrain

As for using the mind externally, let's turn to Telekinesis, or controlling energy to physically affect others. Enerjak has used this to hold up the stunned Chaotix and restrain Knuckles, froze two ants in place, “suspending their motion”, and dragged Knuckles to the moon, then. When Knuckles himself was Enerjak, he flung hundreds of people to another location, grabbed Remington like so, crushed a camera and moved a gun via this, lifted up Julie-Su up like so again, froze hundreds of people in place, and redirected multiple missiles. Finally, the Dark Mobius Enerjak lifted a building with his mind and several others into the air, then later lifted the entirety of Angel Island to smack Silver like it was nothing.

Other examples include Mogul immobilizing all of the freedom fighters and shaking Angel Island, Althair stopping multiple Echidnas from falling into lava through this with concentration, Locke flinging Anti-Sonic out of an area, and Knuckles future daughter Lara-Su flinging around rocks via energy per training to become a guardian. Tails himself has used this while in his Turbo form while working with Shadow in his to forcibly grab and pull all the Chaos Emeralds in the Universe to Earth in a minute, then later shunt all of them into the Zone Of Silence.

Technology Manipulation

Chaos Emeralds in the past have brought forth massive technology advances, and in several other occasions manipulated it with no issue. Locke has used a Chaos Emerald in the past to short circuit technology of some cyborgs, saying he drained their power conduits through projecting his consciousness. Shadow shut off several robots instinctively with Chaos Control without saying the words, Mogul with an emerald dismissed the A.I Nicole from the area, and Shadow disabled Omega for a time with a Chaos Spear.

Immortality

As Chaos is immortal and a constant source in the universe, so too can any who harness it. The most prominent example is Mammoth Mogul, who's eponymous Chaos Emerald has allowed him to live for thousands of years as an immortal, even in an apocalyptic future timeline, Chaos Magic was also what made Echidna guardians like Knuckles so long-lived, and Enerjak stated he himself was, quote, “immortal, eternal, and indestructible”.

Healing

Enduring forever does not just take simple immortality; it also takes other survival methods, like healing. From the Ancient Walkers/Althair healing Tails wounds after a simple conversation, to Althair healing Knuckles burn wounds, to Chaos Knuckles healing someone from critical injury, and it was even implied Mogul healed one of his Destructix from death. This also includes a few unique cases that will be listed below.

Power Nullification

A fairly advanced Chaos technique is the ability to nullify one's powers with Chaos Energy. The sinister Finitevus blocked Locke’s ability to harness the Chaos Emerald with a spell, and did something similar to Archimedes’ telepathy. The demigod Feist could also shut off Shadow’s Chaos Powers, and Eclipse did similar to Shadow later.

Wish-Granting

Remember how the Rings can grant Wishes? This is due to the Chaos Energy that empowers them, and higher dosages of this power can accomplish far more. They have been stated to “will things back to normal”, “turn hope into power” and to “turn dreams into reality”. Sonic even directly compared Chaos Control to a more direct version of the wishes to reality. While this obviously has the previous wish powers (BFR, Speed Boosting, Aging, etc) it has shown much more when used by a Super level character. Particularly in Ixis Naugus reviving Kodos after he was vaporized by Feist, and Sonic reversing time to restore the universe after the first Genesis Wave. It isn't perfect though, as you need total concentration for it to work, and any accidents while wishing can result in catastrophic changes to reality. What's more, in time paradoxes where the damage to reality was severe beyond measure, even Chaos wishes could not stop it

Anything Else Really

With so many Chaos Powers at one's fingertips, a few of them have relatively little exposure compared to the others like reality warping or transmutation. Thus, the more undeveloped powers will be listed here.

This also includes everything, no if’s and’s or but’s. Enerjak has stated he can do anything with but a thought, and that there is literally nothing one cannot accomplish with belief and the Chaos Emeralds. The only real limit is imagination and intelligence, which certainly plays a large part in how characters like the main heroes are somewhat straightforward in applications of Chaos.

Resistances

Franklin

Universe Shaper/Reality Warping

Franklin's power and list of powers are about as ludicrous as you can get when it comes to Marvel, yet there is surprisingly a defined reason for him having control over pretty much everything. He is classified as a “Universal Shaper” by the Celestials, and eventually stated by Franklin himself to be the counterpart to Galactus. While Galan is the utmost destroyer, Franklin is in turn the ultimate creator, and his powers are essentially controlling the building blocks of the universe with a thought to do pretty much anything he wants; through rewriting reality as if he held the pen of the artist sketching his very existence. Neither he nor Galactus can exist without the other, and they rely on each other as cosmic anchors to very concepts of reality

With the power to do anything he wants, time, space, nature, creation itself, and all the primal forces of the universe are his to command on a cosmic scale. He can create entirely new realities to explore, transform reality both conscious and unconsciously, and re-shape the world to his heart's desire. This is also where all of his other abilities come from, which are all fueled by the previously stated phenomenon known as Godpower.

Psionic Powers

One of Franklin's greatest methods of controlling reality is his focusing that Godlike power through his mind, both internal and external. Through his brain, Franklin can access pretty much every broken mental power or attack you can think of, or even better, that he can think of. These include but are not limited to…

Matter Manipulation

Through manipulating Reality with mere thoughts, Franklin can certainly control mere aspects like molecules and atoms with little less than a conscious desire. His Psionic nature, as stated by Psi-Lord, affects matter in some fashion, but adepts like himself can manipulate it on the molecular or even subatomic level. Elaborating on this, he was able to invert particle charges and transmute the mass of an entire continent into antimatter, containing the energies within a field of magneto-metric suspension. He's been stated able to restructure matter before, and has used it himself to, say, turn an energy blast into flowers, stabilize chemical reactions in a star via tutoring from his future self, and that same older teacher casually switched his younger self’s sandwich type. What's more, have you ever heard that Franklin was a mutant? Well, you're technically right, in that he MADE himself a Mutant via subconsciously altering every cell in his body to make it appear like he had the X-Gene. Not that crazy when you consider that with guidance he has manipulated the FFs biological matter on the molecular level, and even been stated to be able to atomize people with his powers.

His experience in controlling matter at any degree has also led to other applications of playing with such complex structures like action figures, such as…

Energy Manipulation

Being in tune with all the forces of creation, Franklin can manipulate the vast expanse of energy to do a variety of wonders through little effort. He can obviously launch energy blasts, fire energy balls, but also craft energy rings to enhance his striking power, generate large area of effect blasts, and more. More complex usages of his powers have shown the abilities to craft platforms of pure energy, seize and absorb the power used in a device, and in Psi-Lord's case, absorb an Atmo-Wave, invert it, reverse the polarity of the Neutron Flow, and use this to unleash a large blast because of it, replicating the Negative Zone barrier. Uh yeah…comics, am I right?

Manipulating the expanses of energy also grants control over its many aspects, as Franklin has shown. Examples include…

Telekinesis

Yet another trick of the trade of psionic powers, Franklin can move objects with his mind in several applications. Throwing foes like Blastaar away, shaking a lab and bypassing the Human Torch's flames, moving 2 flying cars the FF had, etc. Other uses include Psi-Lord flying through lifting his armor, controlling missiles in a training session and telekinetically cushioning his fall. He can grab and carry people, form low density TK Shield's, choke out people, stir up mini dust storm'sand play with mouse toys for a cat.

Flight

As expected since he is a superhero and every hero can fly these days. While possessed, he could fly using his powers, and his adult self also hovered down to the street below a building. He could hover while using his powers, telekinetically make himself float, and learned how to fly himself with help from his dad.

Time Manipulation

As an adult, Franklin froze time on a specific location, leaving out Susan so she would not be affected. He has also said he could “make more time” in a pressing situation, and later disrupted the entire space-time continuum through a simple baseball game and halting time. He's also experienced in the matters of time travel, like how one of his older selves traveled to and from the future to and from the past. He himself has, in more direct usages, been stated to warp time and teleported a ship without a specific person on it to the end of the universe.

Forcefield Creation

Through his various means of playing with the laws of physics, Franklin can craft multiple types of shields and barriers out of thin air. Like around an entire building to block attacks from the X-Men or Fantastic Four, or to battle Rachel Grey; you know, the host of the all-powerful Phoenix Force? His forcefields have also been used to cut off an opponent's oxygen, bear spikes that harm the Thing, create invisible barriers and psychic shields, and all of the above in fields completely immune to the powers and tech of both the Fantastic Four and Black Bolt; the latter of which he states “nothing can escape''.

B.F.R/Teleportation

Given control over all of reality, the matter of warping, space and teleporting in-between it all is child's play for our dear Franklin. He has stated he would send Dr. Doom to Hell/"where we just came from" and an adult version of him teleported in a flash of energy, as well as taking a baby a distance away from him through this with him in returning to the future. Franklin has teleported his Astral Form to Nightmare's realm, unconsciously shunted heroes into his famous pocket universe, and done far more. His greatest examples include an evil Moon Knight with his powers being able to battle and drag the regular Moon Knight across other dimensions in the multiverse, sending the Mad Celestials to a local Gas Giant while an adult, and switching the Four Freedoms Plaza with the Baxter Building with ease.

Immortality/Healing

As the Universal Shaper and force of utmost creation in the Multiverse, Franklin is less a human and more an undying concept; key word being undying. Not only has he somehow came back after his brain wavelength signals were gone, but his powers used on others have healed the Thing from impalement/corruption, and resurrected Galactus on two separate occasions, ALONG with his previously dead sister via returning her to his mother's womb…somehow.

Franklin isn't just immortal in the sense of the word. He has been stated by numerous cosmic entities to live foreveror until the end of the universe anyway. This is outright shown to us in him living thousands of years rather easily, and we see his purpose of living until the end of it all several billion years away with Galactus, in-turn entering the next multiverse as Galan had done before him.

Omnipotence

Across several occasions, foes like Occulus and that evil Moon Knight were described as nearly or just straight-up omnipotent after having stolen his powers. This may seem like hyperbole, but then you have his older bearded self, referred to as “Avatar”, described as a virtually omnipotent being by a handbook and official direct source.

Non-Corporeality/Non-Spatial Being

That evil Moon Knight I keep referring to (Moonshade) using Franklin's powers was described as a multidimensional being several times, and even a Pan-Dimensional being as well. This, in essence, means that Franklin's powers make him one pertaining to any and all dimensions of reality, with no spatial or corporeal attributes. He encompasses and exceeds the standard 3 Dimensions of existence, existing outside the linearity we lowly mortals can comprehend.

Pocket Universe Creation

As most people who know Franklin are aware, he is the creator of the infamous Counter-Earth; originally a pocket universe he crafted and shunted Earth's heroes into in order to save them from Onslaught and basically soft-reboot everything for some new comic stories. It's been explicitly stated as such on several occasions, and it's not the only time he's done this too.

Age Manipulation

As used several times, Franklin's abilities have made him accelerate his own age and decelerate it back to normal as necessary, as reaffirmed by a Handbook later on. On a separate occasion, he has also de-aged his adult body to 13 years old, referred to as a "transformation".

Pain Manipulation

Have you ever wanted to make your foe hurt? Nothing else. Just feel pain? Well, Franklin can do that because he is totally a good guy and good guys make their opponents' minds feel on fire. In his defense, it's been used by legitimate villains possessing his body like Scratch on Mr. Fantastic…but he has also made a villain feel pain, saying he "made her hurt", and as an adult, he sent feedback through a forcefield that turned the users energy flow right back at her and inflicted large amounts of pain.

Life Energy Siphon

One of the darker applications of Frank's powers, and one he didn't even intend to use. One of his many adult alt. versions unconsciously siphoned life energy from Rachel Grey and others to maintain his Dream self while his body was dead (long story) that would have been fatal through him not even trying to kill them via this method. On another occasion, Moonshade, who had control over his powers, used them to absorb MK entities from all over the Multiverse and kill them through this, which he said later was a psychic assault, with only a few resilient MKs being able to resist it. The same monster later did this w/o the help of a device through evolution a few times, and given Franklin has better control over both these powers at his peak, he should be able to do similar.

Power Transference

As if having every other ability he can think of wasn't enough, Franklin can also give YOU any other ability you can think of. He unknowingly granted a random man enough power to outmatch the Human Torch, but also select abilities, like energy beams, fire/heat resistances, and telekinesis that ignores barriers. Not only that, but he also boosted the Fantastic Four's powers by a “quantum increase” and to their ultimate, plus brought his own powers back…somehow.

Substance Scatter

In one of the most HIM moments in Marvel Comics history, Franklin scattered Mephisto's substance across Hell to the point where he couldn't reform for days on end; messing with the entire dimension as just a side effect. To elaborate on what exactly this did, Franklin killed Mephisto. Outright. From the words of Doctor Strange, Franklin banished his life-essence from Hell and all adjacent spirit realms. The only reason he survived was that evil as a concept still existed in the hearts of man, and even then this took multiple days for him to come back from.

Anything Else Really

Because Franklin can manipulate everything at will, he can do anything. Plain and simple. Here are the examples of powers he's used a few times over the years but not as consistently as the others.

This also extends to…literally ANYTHING else. He has on several occasions stated or been stated to, say, be able to “do anything”, think and it becomes reality, do almost anything he imagines, reshape reality with less than a thought, or…just screw it. He's also been said to be tapped into the primal forces of the universe, being able to manipulate and shape the limits and laws of reality to do just about anything.

Resistances

Forms

Tails

Hyper Tails

When Sonic and Tails were exposed to thousands of Rings in a duel with Ixis Naugus, Sonic went Ultra, and Tails went Hyper. Like Sonic, this is an invulnerable and super-powerful form that enhances all prior attributes, allows him to fly without using his tails, and summons multiple Flickies to aid him in battle. If it's anything like Ultra Sonic, it should also grant him a greater understanding of Chaos Magic, as opposed to the stronger forms relying more on brute force.

Turbo Tails

Thus would be Tails equivalent to Super Sonic, and the embodiment of his love for super-heroes. With all-around stat boosts, flight, Invulnerability, and a cape to match, he's every bit a fox of steel. Not only can he evade Mammoth Mogul's 6th sense, but he helped defeat this monster right alongside Super Sonic and Hyper Knuckles, all but solidifying the 3 are equal in power. Of note, he also worked with Shadow in the Great Harmony to summon all the Chaos Emeralds across the universe, and transport them to the Zone Of Silence, resulting in it becoming the Special Zone under Feist's control. It’s been stated that Turbo Tails wields power beyond Super Sonic and Hyper Knuckles.

Titan Tails

This is the peak of Tails' power, and his destiny as the Chosen One to save all that was and is. By merging with every single version of himself across the multiverse, Tails gained a massive increase in physical ability, and allowed him to single-handedly take down Mammoth Mogul when he had control over the Chaos Force, becoming “the ultimate power in the multiverse”. Naturally, he has showcased his own abilities whilst doing this, which include…

Franklin

(NOTE: Franklin doesn't exactly turn into these for a battle so don't expect these to mean much)

Avatar

Once upon a time, Franklin unconsciously made himself an adult when thinking he could be better if he was. This version of Franklin retained the same childlike innocence, but had a brief spout of amnesia. Once he figured out who he was and what he did, Franklin reversed this, and the scar on the Things face (long story) while placing mental blocks on himself to halt his powers from manifesting for the time being.

Psi-Lord

Long story short, Reed's father, Nathaniel Richards, took Franklin with him at one point into the future to raise him on his own for fighting far larger threats (yet again, VERY long story). Franklin returned moments later as a battle-hardened teenager, ready to go on his own adventures with other like-minded individuals for gritty action packed thrillers.

Yeah the 90's were %$#&ING stupid.

This Franklin was a more mature hero, and helped on plenty of adventures, but eventually faded away as a time paradoxical thing I'm not explaining resulted in Franklin returning to the present as a child, like he originally should have.

Adult Franklin

This one is less a form, and more his future. Franklin's legitimate future self has Journeyed to the past to not only give himself his powers back, but tutor him on how to use them, and save all of reality from the celestials by tag-teaming them with Galactus. Franklin at that point had lived for thousands of years, and was a veritable genius on how to use his powers, at the height of it all. It was this same point where, after billions of years, he fulfilled his role and entered the 9th omniverse which Galan's energy created, with him eventually creating the 10th omniverse as the cycle continues.

Scaling

Tails

(Images made by the GOAT SonallyKingKataang)

Sonic the Hedgehog

As the little brother to Archie's premier blue blur, it's no question Tails can scale to him. He's kept up with Sonic pretty much every single time the two have worked together, intercepted people on his level before like Metal Sonic, and fought Sonic himself at one point. Sonic acknowledged Tails was making it hard for him to hold back, and while he wasn't going that serious, Tails himself was in a mentally unstable point due to context. At his best, Tails has proven more than capable of standing on Sonic's level. Sonic has…

Freedom Fighters/Chaotix

From his large history of fighting for freedom alongside Sonic and his friends, Tails has rubbed shoulders with some of the greatest warriors in the world. This includes the Chaotix, who the FF and Tails himself have proven comparable to. Naturally, as a Superform like Hyper Tails, he would also be far above these feats.

Miscellaneous Base Characters

Mammoth Mogul

Given Tails is the Chosen One who's destiny was to defeat Mogul…yeah he definitely scales. Not only have the two fought before when he was Master Mogul, but Tails own victory was when he was at his strongest; when he wielded the entire Chaos Force at his disposal. Ergo, Tails most assuredly compares and exceeds Mogul's might.

Chaos Force

Naturally, as the sole possessor of the Chaos Force when he is Titan Tails, young Prower would be comparable to and in fact exceed every feat it has been used for in all its many forms.

Chaos Emeralds or the Master Emerald have done…

This also extends to any and all characters using the Chaos Force in their magic.

The Chaos Force should also logically be superior to every other weapon or feat in the verse, which includes the Ultimate Annihilator

Franklin

Fantastic Four

Franklin should obviously exceed his fantastic  family by several leagues, as has been proven before. He has unleashed energy while possessed that broke Invisible Woman's shields, and defeated the entire team with ease while an amnesiac adult. A gem meant to scan him shattered, and this was fine scanning the other FF members mind you, which should be all the proof you need that he is LEAGUES higher than his family.

Mephisto

In the first of Franklin's many fraud checks of Marvel's heavy hitters, he completely humbled and desecrated Mephisto; Marvel's lord of the damned. To elaborate, this wasn't any ordinary encounter. In reality, Mephisto's powers were amplified “a thousandfold” according to Dr. Strange, who himself lost to the devil earlier in the story. Even with those factors, Mephisto was deathly afraid of releasing a currently trapped Franklin, not even attempting to take his soul lest he wake him up. Once Strange figured this out, he woke up Franklin, who proceeded to clean house so hard all of hell spazzed out due to Mephisto being gone…until he reformed that is, because reminder, Franklin killed him. The only reason Mephisto survived was that Evil still existed on Earth, thus he did, and even then this took days for him to return. Much later, Mephisto also confirmed all of this and said it was “one of the worst setbacks” he suffered in his Eternity of soul-snatching. And again. Mephisto was amplified a thousand times over, so yeah, Franklin upscales ludicrously off of all of this.

Celestials

Due to Franklin's frequent encounters with the Celestials, it is no surprise he would wind up exceeding them. Even beyond mere battle arguments of him resisting their attacks or killing them outright, he is classified as beyond Omega Classification, with a threat/danger level of “harbinger”. Dr. Doom believed Franklin's powers could let him match the Celestials, and the celestials themselves believed Franklin to be “on par with themselves”. His future self had the same exact power level to the Celestials, but was also referred to as “Galactic Constant. Danger. Danger. Doom” meaning they were very much afraid of him. His powers have also been categorized in a ranking of threat level as “HIGH” whereas a Celestial invasion was a “MEDIUM”. It has been repeatedly stated he has challenged the might of celestials or that he is a threat to them, and given all of this, he should certainly compare and likely upscale from their potential.

The Phoenix

Befitting his status as one of Marvel's premier powerhouses, Franklin should be comparable to the Phoenix. Not only has he repeatedly been stated to be “the world's most powerful mutant” by viable sources such as Galactus, but also several times over he has been hyped up by beings such as Onslaught, despite his knowing full-well the Phoenix’s capabilities, and has been stated to hold “unprecedented” powers in the entire history of humanity by Ashema of the Celestials. On one occasion, his psychic cries alarmed Jean Grey with the Phoenix Force from the potential danger, as well as other high tier danger-sense characters like Spider-Man and Doctor Strange. Then you have to bring into account the final piece: Franklin has fought the Phoenix before.

In this case, a future version of him dueled the future Rachel Grey, the wielder of the Phoenix Force. In this encounter, the story directly compared the two; crediting it as her being "the irresistible force" and he as "the immovable object". Even other examples have her outright saying he is the superior telepath, and his child self later possessed the Phoenix/Rachel Grey, leading credence to his overall power being comparable at the very least, and likely higher overall. Combine these with statements of his being among the most powerful beings in the universe and even multiverse from several trustworthy sources, as well as repeatedly proving higher than other beings in her league like Galactus, and it isn't that far of a stretch to scale her feats to Franklin's.

Galactus

The literal big G himself, and Marvel's devourer of worlds. In case you skimmed Franklin's powers/backstory to get here, which…fair, he is in actuality the counterpart to Galactus. Galan is the embodiment of destruction, and Franklin is the embodiment of creation. As such, they would already be comparable off that alone, but Franklin has also used his powers to resurrect Galactus, even making him his Herald, which also happened in God Emperor Doom’s new reality by the way. The two have worked together to battle the Mad Celestials, his powers were comparable to an invasion from Galactus in a sort of ranking based on threat, and at the end of reality, Franklin fulfills his role and steps into the new iteration of the multiverse, with Galan's energy creating such an event, and his fading a result. This process is a repeat of the past one Galan was a part of, supporting Franklin is at the least comparable to his unexpected friend.

Cosmology

Archie Sonic

(Credit to this post on clearing up some things about the cosmology. Feel free to read it if any of this is confusing as it explains things better than I do.)

The Archie Sonic cosmology is a…vast structure, to say the least.

Starting off with the Prime Zone known as Mobius, there are several pieces to get its overall size. On two separate occasions, beings gifted with knowledge of the cosmos (EVE and Althair) specifically referred to it as infinity or infinite, and this isn't too far-fetched. The Archie Sonic Comic Handbook, when speaking of alien life across the cosmos, refers to the planets across the universe as countless, with an endless array of species. Assuming you want to slap a finite limit on this due to countless meaning “too many to count” this would then itself be countered by endless quite literally meaning “having no limit or end”. Finishing off this is the Zone Of Silence, which Robotnik outright states was beyond “finite proportions”. This matters because Rotor directly called it a universe, and not any special kind of universe either, meaning it can be compared to Mobius Prime. There have also been several times where it has been outright compared to Mobius Prime (merge it with “this reality”). So to start, the Universe should be Infinite in size.

Going beyond the universe, let's talk Pocket Zones. Fun fact, while the term “Zone” used to refer to subsections of land, the term evolved over the Pre-Genesis Wave continuity to be synonymous with alternate universes or realities. This isn't some random theory or a few times mentioned oddity either. It is very consistently name-dropped in place of or in conjunction with terms like reality or universe several dozens of times by people who know full well the subject, such as Zonic the Zone Cop or Silver the Hedgehog. That said, there are several “Zones” still in the universe, meaning threatening one would destroy all of them as well. Other Zones also occupy the same space but under different dimensional frequencies.

Going further, the Prime Zone is but one of infinite realities in an infinite multiverse, where there are infinite variations of infinite possibilities. What's more, the greater multiverse is layered with several extradimensional realms and areas outside that broaden its scope even more. First up is the No Zone, which runs perpendicular through all other Zones. As stated and shown through examples, like other reality characters needing a spatial stabilizer to stand “upright” inside it, this resembles a structure of 4 spatial dimensions + 1 temporal dimension, and would make the cosmology so far 5D. Next is Maginaryworld which is pretty blatantly extradimensional, due to Lumina herself saying the Dreamstone supports extradimensional worlds. Then, couple that with the idea of dreams across all Zones themselves technically having an infinite amount due to “endless species across countless worlds”. TLDR and per game context (which the comic leads into) in order to contain infinite dreams across infinite branches, Maginaryworld must be 5D, supporting the No Zone also being a 5th dimensional realm.

Beyond even these realms is the Next Evolution, where Echidna go when they pass away. As described by the Guardians, this exists equally in the middle when concerning lower realms like the Prime Zone/Mortal Plane, and higher ones like the Chaos Force. This process is quite literally described as “transcending and ascending” from a corporeal state into a higher plane where the gap between time and space is bridged, and where time is pretty much irrelevant. Thus, due to being above the lower physical realms, like the No Zone, Next Evolution is at least 6D. Above even this is the Chaos Force, which is almost the exact same situation, where you need to “transcend twice” to reach it in terms of comparing the mortal realms to Next Evolution. Of note, this transcend process involves the Virtual Zone as a separate part, in regards to the “transcend twice” statement, meaning you could likely argue Next Evolution to be 7D in total. The Chaos Force is totally out of space-time, and above all lower planes, like Maginaryworld and Next Evolution. Being above all of this places the Chaos Force at 7D, possibly 8D depending on how you view Next Evolution. However, this isn't the limit either.

First up, we have Sonic Boom. In the show (which is an alternate universe to the Archie Multiverse) Eggman is fully aware of String Theory and Superstring Theory (1:23), which were brought up in conjunction with a time-based loop. He brings this up on another occasion when speaking of Particle Theory (he made a black hole and somehow this relates? Context is weird) meaning he should be well-versed in it given the prior example. However, this isn't taken that seriously in the show, so it's pretty sketchy to actually use if at all. Finally, we have the matter of Worlds Unite/Collide. In this case where Sonic crossed over with Mega Man, Ian Flynn confirmed that it was his own “bubble of reality” in his own multiverse: IE, separate multiverses. Essentially, the Super Genesis Wave (and thus Chaos Control from a Superform character) can affect multiple multiverses, and potentially even more when you consider other media Archie Sonic has crossed over with, like Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Image Comics…yes, this means Spawn.

Marvel Comics

(Credit to G1's Phoenix vs Raven blog)

Marvel has a vast cosmology, to be blunt. It starts out with a singular universe, infinite in size which expands into an infinite number of alternate timelines every quantum moment. With every subconscious and unconscious action and nonaction, an infinity of alternate timelines (universes) is generated. And then for every one of those universes, an infinite amount of alternate universes is generated over and over again, AD Infinitum. This simply starts from a single universe, turning into its own subsection of the multiverse. Each of these universes represents a manifestation body of Multi-Eternity. Fun fact, while a single Eternity means a boundless Universe, a Multi-Eternity means a boundless multiverse. Speaking of the greater multiverse, this is described as infinite and even transfinite (an infinite series of infinite numbers, each greater than each other - this all starts with aleph-null, the baseline infinity). Atop the transfinitely-growing multiverse are an infinite number of spatial dimensions, even being referred to as planes of reality (of which there has been implied to be a transfinite number). And of course, Marvel being Marvel, does not just have one multiverse, but rather an infinite number of multiverses and megaverses as well making up an omniverse.

This omniverse and all multiverses and universes within are kept separate by the multiversal Superflow, which is conceptually transcended by the Superflow of Dreamtime or the “true” Superflow. This Superflow is a conceptual space that holds abstract, metaphysical concepts and archetypes that are beyond time, space, and form. The Superflow holds many layers such as the Microverse, Macroverse, Astral Plane, No-Space, and the Multiplane. The realm of abstracts, Overspace, sits within and atop the Superflow of Dreamtime. Otherworld sits separately from Overspace and contains pocket dimensions like Blightspoke which contains dead realities. Beyond the Superflow of Dreamtime would be the Neutral Zone which is also located between and beyond the multiverse. It is the edge of science but also so much more as it is an archetypal space for primal forms beyond that of the Superflow. Just as the Superflow views all underneath, the Neutral Zone views it. It is the final edge to the 8th Cosmos before it (Multi-Eternity of the 8th Cosmos) can be viewed as an infinitesimal speck within the Outside. Every iteration of Eternity grows more powerful than the previous one up until they ascend to their afterlife. The First Firmament is bigger than all though.

Weaknesses

Tails

(Sorry.)

Despite his accomplishments, Tails has a lot of growing up to do overall. He lets his emotions get the best of him in crucial moments or times, is prone to failure if he doesn't keep his guard up like in the above, and can be outsmarted by beings employing calculated tactics. An example of this is how Mammoth Mogul intercepted him mid-teleport and cloned him, which went unnoticed for months. He also feels a desire to prove himself, which could lead to arrogant decisions overall. Chaos Mages are also usually outmatched in hax/effectiveness by stronger mages, and although more haxy individuals like Mogul and Silver have defeated people like Enerjak through abilities, it's still an example of more skill and power triumphing over almost anyone in Archie Sonic

Franklin

Despite his unimaginable power, Franklin is not Invincible (though he sure as heck comes close). As the Celestials have pointed out, attacking his mind would in turn counter his power, though it's a bit more complex given he resisted their mental attacks. In reality, your best chance is to pull some type of hax unrelated to mental attack before he can counter. This includes his powers being shut off by an antimatter weapon that halted his mind to put him into a coma, where he could not use his powers, which he later woke up from when mentally attacked funnily enough. His powers can be kept at bay through certain mental probe torture, and certain people like Invisible Woman or Nicolas Scratch can get past his subconscious if sneaky enough (though these usually require intense planning to work). Mental Dampeners have prevented his Astral Form from leaving an area, heavily prepared psionic armor tuned to his abilities have resisted Franklin's powers, and his perception can be manipulated by Xavier's mental fortitude and Onslaught’s tricks.

Beyond actual mental traits, Franklin was defeated by someone using a neural disruptor to scramble a brain's synapses, making it so moving or thinking at all caused tremendous pain on physical and psychological levels until both mind and body shut themselves down. His powers have also been drained and absorbed a fair number of times by potent enough sources, such as when Dr. Doom's Cosmic Power Siphon nearly drained them, but they returned later. His internal energy being altered is also a possibility, as he was severely injured by Moonshade draining his life-essence though he ultimately survived, and Psi-Lord was threatened by Negaverse Tendrils that would siphon his energy to leave him a withered burnt-out husk before he stopped them. When he wasn't using his powers, his physical body was able to be killed, and his soul nearly ascended to the afterlife before a Celestial stopped him, though due to not using his powers, it's questionable if he would normally be vulnerable like this. He can knock himself out from pushing certain powers too far (albeit this was years ago and doesn't hold true when fighting far stronger challenges), and finally, he requires building blocks to create, so no matter left, like at the dawn of entropy, means he can't do much beyond innate abilities really. Speaking of, in an alternate future type thing, Franklin was killed before he could fulfill this role by Hulk absorbing him, who did the same to his “back-up”, Mister Immortal. It is important to note however that most of these were at weak points in his history when he wasn't equipped to resist these or at his logical peak, so you'd need considerably more than this to reliably overcome Franklin.

Before The Verdict

Regarding Off-Panel

For those wondering, Off-Panel wasn't really included in the Cosmology section. Essentially, Off-Panel is basically “the real world” where Sonic and Co. literally meet their writers and artists, and technically speaking this could fit into the cosmology. It is quite consistently treated as a higher realm outside the comic itself, and would thus make the verse 8-9D. The Issue with this is nobody really scales to it. To put it bluntly, the Genesis Wave shenanigans are referred to as a sort of reboot by Sonic himself, with him asking the writers to do so. It's flat-out not in his control in the first place. We have no real example of Off-Panel being breached like the Chaos Force or the Next Evolution or etc, so Tails can't scale to it.

What's with Franklin's powers?

So, Franklin's powers have fluctuated a good bit over the years, and have left at several points, currently being “gone”. You might be asking if it affects the fight or results…but it doesn't. For starters, a large part of his powers being gone were related to people attempting to shut off or steal them, but they always returned. The mental blocks he placed on himself also had a part in their being gone, but once more, they always returned. Even his current self having no powers is…well, to be blunt, self-imposed.

(Sigh)

So, essentially, Franklin didn't actually lose his powers for good this time. What really happened is he allowed this to happen due to the danger they posed, and instead chose to grow up a normal boy and refrain from using them until he was old enough to handle them. To this end, he made it so he could only use these abilities once per year, which he spends looking at the state of the universe and doing things like halting problems for his family. TLDR; He still has his powers and can use them here.

How high is Franklin in Marvel's hierarchy?

Yes.

Nah I'm just joking lol.

Franklin being one of the most powerful beings in Marvel has been known for decades, but just how strong is he? Well, here's some talk of it if anybody is curious.

Starting off, most godly beings in the universe have been humbled by Franklin. In the case of Mephisto, not only was he greatly amped at the time, but Franklin took care of him with little effort. This places Franklin leagues above him, and by extension other characters in his league, like Odin, Thor, the Ghost Riders/Zarathos, and, surprise surprise, Galactus. Moving to the big G, it's established Franklin is at least comparable to Galan, and in actuality above him. Not only have his powers revived a fallen Galactus, but been used to battle alongside him against the Mad Celestials, and eventually to move on to the next universe in his place per Marvel's rebirth cycle. This also leads to potential comparisons to the Phoenix Force, given its scraps with Galactus.

Personally, I believe it's fine to compare the two. Franklin has been stated on numerous occasions to be among the most powerful beings in the multiverse, and by far its mightiest mutant, which would include Jean Grey. His fodderizing beings, similar to the Phoenix doing so, would lead credence to this, as would his battling the Phoenix. For reference, he battled Rachel Grey, the future daughter of Jean and Cyclops, and current wielder of the Phoenix Force. The battle was credited like they were equals (absolute force vs immovable object) with later examples like Rachel herself admitting Franklin was the superior telepath. All of this combined leads to my believing it's fine to compare them, though feel free to disagree.

Verdict

Stats

Regarding the power and speed these two veritable gods can wield, both have vast ranges to discuss. Starting off with speed, both are fairly even all things considered. Tails has kept up with characters like Sonic who have incalculable speed feats, and scales to several more while in his superforms. Franklin has entered battles spanning Marvel's infinite gamut of reality, and compares to other beings like Odin or the Silver Surfer with their own immeasurable feats. Both vastly upscale these values, as Mogul achieved such a feat while nearly devoid of his Godly power, and Odin perceived Mjolnir flying at unquantifiable speeds while similarly weakened himself. Thus, they should mostly even out in the sheer speed they can move and fight at.

As for power, this is a bit more complex. Both ludicrously upscale from the middle ground heroes of their worlds like Sonic and the Fantastic Four at their best, who can match a few times universal power level, in regards to an infinitely sized universe. In regards to their full power, first let's discuss Tails. As the Titan and Chosen One, Tails possesses the ultimate power in Archie Sonic's multiverse, and easily defeated Mogul, who was a threat to it all. Similar feats of Chaos mages affecting the multiverse are fairly prevalent, which includes affecting multiple at the same time, like the Super Genesis Wave with Mega Man's multiverse. You could even argue this could affect other properties like the Images Comics multiverse and its own cast like Spawn and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. This includes several special and extradimensional layers, like the Chaos Force, landing 7-8D overall. That is incredibly impressive…but frankly, none of it matters. Let's talk about Franklin.

Franklin is without a doubt one of the most powerful beings Marvel has to offer, with the feats and scaling to prove it. His duels with Celestials and utterly demolishing an amped Mephisto places him solidly above people like Odin and even Galactus, which places him on an omniversal level of power. Mephisto even has similar feats on his own regarding his duel with Hela, which would cause omniversal armageddon. Elaborating on this, Marvel cosmology dictates that there are infinite multiverses in the greater omniverse, and keep in mind, people like Galactus and Mephisto can threaten ALL of this. On top of that, the Marvel Cosmology is layered with infinite spatial dimensions, as opposed to the 7-8D heights Archie Sonic's Multiverse gets.

All of this means Franklin's true power simply outclasses Tails in every way, shape, and form, to the point where the word “advantage” doesn't even begin to do it justice.

Arsenal & Abilities

Now, I'll be doing something similar to g1's Ultron vs Braniac's ability comparison for this, in all its forms.

Psionic Powers

Starting with psionic abilities, both are fairly well-versed. They both have access to these powers, among more select examples.

  • Telepathy

  • Mind Control

  • Mind Reading

  • Mental Battles

  • Enter the mindscape of others

  • Control or alter memories

  • Illusions/projecting images

  • Unleashing psychic blasts or attacks

  • Possession

  • Astral Projection (up to dimensions apart)

  • Precognition and Retrocognition

Covering these and a few more comparisons overall, there's no question that Franklin has the edge. Concerning telepathy, he has a much more impressive mental record, and far more versatility in that regard. Both can alter the memories of others, but Franklin can actively search and probe through them to find out whatever he wants, whenever he wants. Both can read minds, but these sorts of things can be resisted in Chaos Magic's case by higher mental fortitude, and Franklin has routinely proven above telepathy like the Phoenix or Charles Xavier, who Tails can't even touch in mental prowess. While Tails’ Astral Form can reach to other dimensions, so can Franklin’s, which can also operate while he is still conscious and on wavelengths other psychics like Psylocke can not detect. In terms of seeing the past or the future (retrocognition or precognition) both can glimpse thousands of years into the past, but Tails is stuck at thousands of years into the future, while Franklin can glimpse billions of years ahead. What's more, he has actual experience utilizing this himself and in battle beyond the Walkers methods.

For Illusions/Psychic Images, Tails has no experience using these, while Franklin can create Illusions on far greater scales, and in actual physical projections that can duel herald-level foes or greater to add more back-up if he needs it. While both can possess, Tails would need more negative emotions in order for it to work, along with being superior in mental fortitude…to a guy who outmatched Nightmare and possessed the Phoenix Force. That's mostly where the comparisons stop, as Chaos Mages aren't that versatile in mental abilities, at least relative to Franklin. While Tails could access a 6th sense, numerous people, like himself, can evade this sort of thing, and Franklin has Precognition anyway so it's probably not doing much. For all his cosmic awareness when scaled to characters like Dark Enerjak, it's not an instant win-condition as we'll discuss later.

Despite Tails’ possible mental powers, he's never quite shown ability or resistance to things like Franklin passively putting him to sleep, probing his mind for information about how his powers work, or peeling the layers of his mind away like an onion to extract whatever he wants. His sensing capabilities are even more impressive, as he can sense spirits, meaning any sneak attack with an astral form or otherwise is doomed to fail, and given it extends to the universe and beyond, it's highly unlikely any play Tails could make would surprise him. Worst of all is his mental blocks, which could simply shut off Tails using any of his Chaos Powers. You could argue Tails could work around these given his intelligence, but their strength requires extensive mental attack to break which isn't even successful all the time, like with Venom, and it's highly unlikely Tails could discern his astral form is immune to this. If worse comes to worse, Franklin can just overpower Tails’ mind at any point, and leave his physical body open to any counter or play he wants to make.

Energy Manipulation

As for energy manipulation, both can, again, do mostly the same sorts of things, such as…

  • Energy Blasts

  • Energy Barriers/Forcefields

  • Strengthening Themselves (Tails can strengthen weapons and Franklin can power himself up physically)

  • Seizing/Controlling Energy directly (Tails can yank around Energy and Franklin can do similar)

As for what isn't similar, Chaos Mages have direct examples of radiation, nuclear, or EMP specific types of energy, which Franklin hasn't shown. However, it's unlikely any would play much of a factor given their wide power-sets, same with making a singularity. Tails can theoretically sense energy similar to Knuckles, but as we've established, Franklin has much stronger sensing, and on far wider scales. While both can seize energy, Franklin can absorb it, providing an edge…until we get to Titan Tails, which will be discussed later on. As far as Energy Manipulation goes, both are roughly even.

Time Manipulation

For time manipulation, once more they are fairly similar. Both can…

  • Stop time

  • Warp it in general

  • Alter its flow

  • Time Travel

However, Franklin has the edge in the other factors. Due to how time travel works in Archie Sonic, it is incredibly difficult to change the present with it from altering the past, so nobody really uses it, let alone Tails. Even in a sort of verse equalization situation, Franklin has time traveled before with less of an issue, and has shown skill in warping to places without select people. With how easily he can disrupt the entire space-time continuum, he's also shown similar examples to other superforms messing with time and space. As for Tails potential acausality when scaling to Chaos Knuckles, while this would protect him from any time travel shenanigans, it can't help him in much else, meaning Franklin takes the edge this time through greater experience and precision.

Space Manipulation

After controlling time, both these titans can make all of space do whatever they want, and of course, they use it for similar things

  • Teleportation

  • Creating portals to other dimensions or around the multiverse

  • Warping it in general

  • BFR/Battlefield Removal

Similar to controlling time, Franklin has simply better odds when it comes to altering space. Not only is he fairly straightforward in BFR if it comes down to it, but this includes shunting people into a pocket universe should he desire to, swapping any object Tails wields at any point, and doing all this on a scale even Celestials can't ignore. To top this off, Chaos mages, like Enerjak, have gotten BFR'd before, so it stands to reason Franklin can do the same. Either way though, both can teleport and craft portals, so BFR won't matter too much anyway.

Elemental Manipulation

This one is fairly straightforward, in that neither really uses this. Assuming you do, people like Ixis Naugus are quite versatile, but Franklin can just make himself immune to elements like fire anyway so…

Transmutation/Matter Manipulation

Now, when it comes to Manipulating matter, both have their comparisons and edges. Both can…

  • Transmute objects into whatever they want

  • Alter or stall mutations in objects

  • Alter biology/appearances

  • Do all of this down to the molecular level and beyond

While Tails has his edges here, Franklin's triumph once more. For the most basic example, Tails can alter down to the molecular and even atomic level when scaling to Ixis Naugus, but Franklin can affect matter on the subatomic level, offering a greater level of range and control. Both can transmute attacks or their attackers, but Tails, or any Chaos Mage for that matter, hasn't shown they can precisely transmute an entire continent on the spot. Furthering this, Franklin has transmuted energy attacks against him before, and can do the same here against the vast range Tails’ forms can throw at him. While Tails scaling to Ultra Sonic would allow him to adapt his physical body in a sense, Franklin wouldn't give him the chance to do so, given he can completely dissolve or annihilate objects whenever he wants. Even worse for Tails is how superior skill in transmutation has allowed sorcerers like Mammoth Mogul to beat matter manipulation from the likes of Ixis Naugus, and given Franklin is much more experienced when using transmutation, he could likely resist his attacks outright. Tails should be fairly resistant to it due to how a Ring Matrix blocked out powers from Ixis Naugus, but this was due to higher energy supplies and calculated planning on Eggman’s end. It's unlikely Tails could prevail in the same way here given Franklin's much higher power output.

Reality Warping

Like psionic abilities, Tails doesn't stand much of a chance here. Both can tear apart reality or reshape it on a massive scale, but Tails can't do all that much with it, and can't easily erase living beings or their spirits as shown with Eggman and Wily's Genesis Wave shenanigans (they did plan to with the Super Genesis Wave but the point still stands).  Franklin's powers in general are reality warping, and he's had way more experience in actually using them at their best.

Telekinesis

Once more, both these guys can do similar stuff with the Telekinesis. Both can…

  • Shake/move objects

  • Restrain people and freeze their motion

For a switch-up, Tails actually should have the edge here. Franklin has certainly shown the range to, but Chaos Mages have more direct examples of moving large objects at will, like hundreds of people all at once, or Tails dragging Chaos Emeralds from all across the universe. Among more haxy examples like choking people or freezing them in motion, they mostly equal out, and Franklin bypassing external shielding like Johnny's flames likely wouldn't apply to a superform.

Technology Manipulation

Both of them can mess with technology in similar ways, so they're roughly even here. The Issue is that before entering his superforms this is pretty much entirely what Tails relies on in battle, while Franklin has no such weakness.

Immortality/Healing Factors

Both Tails and Franklin are fairly similar in this field. They both can heal wounds, resurrect people, and are functionally immortal in life-span, meaning neither can be aged to death or anything like that. As for the potency of their Immortality, Franklin has lived to the end of the universe, whereas no specific example exists in Archie Sonic. Should Tails try healing mid-battle, Franklin can always leech energy from his life-force, or simply annihilate his entire body to the point where nothing is left. You can argue from certain instances like Enerjak and Mogul that Tails could come back from this and then start the battle again, but Franklin can interact with spirits and likely attack them as well, and has other methods to get around this. In the case of Mogul, it likely took time for him to get back to normal again, and while he was weakened extraordinarily while doing this, it still means forcibly eradicating a Chaos Mage before they can heal such damage should be fatal, which Franklin is certainly capable of. The biggest example of this is him scattering the substance of people like Mephisto, who is fully capable of healing from damage like this mind you, yet he was incapable of returning for days. There is no proof Tails can heal from the sheer magnitude of this attack.

Miscellaneous

Now before we get to the bulk of things, let's discuss a few powers that mostly even out.

  • Cloning - Both can clone themselves/anything else at will, but never really use it so it wouldn't play too much of a factor. If so than Franklin would win due to his psychic projections adding on to the mix.

  • Creation - Both can create pocket universes or just straight-up universes from their power sources. Franklin has more experience with this given it’s the basis behind an entire reboot and he's dealt with these kinds of powers more. Hell, he has created several thousand dimensions after Secret Wars, and has crafted entire multiverses and beyond when an adult, which is a bit more complex than anything Chaos Mages can readily use.

  • Evolution - Scaling to others using their power supplies (Sonic and Moonshade) both should be capable of adapting to the others attacks as the battle goes on, and both happen in short timeframes as well.

  • Heightened Senses - Tails would have access to various Super senses, like a 6th sense and cosmic awareness. Franklin’s powers make him virtually omnipotent and allow him to scan reality across the universe. Factor in his encounters with similar beings like the Celestials and Galactus and it's unlikely any of this could stop him.

  • Knowledge Grant - Tails can gain knowledge on whatever he needs to know through Power Rings, and A.D.A.M has done similar with Chaos Emeralds. Franklin as an adult (which he can change into at any point if it’s an issue) can gain Reed Richard's knowledge whenever he wishes and is already a genius when it comes to other superpowers in his own right, so it mostly evens out.

  • Intangibility/Phasing - Both are capable of phasing their bodies at will and becoming intangible. As far as this goes, Franklin would be the victor in that he can naturally interact with spirits, whereas Chaos Mages need to aim to do so to begin with instead of naturally doing so.

  • Mental Resistances - Both have fairly notable mental resistances, but Tails’ own isn't quite good enough in this case. The sheer level of telepathy Franklin has shrugged off is completely out of his ballpark, such as Mephisto, the Phoenix, and Celestials. Superior minds also triumph over Chaos granted mental resistances in Archie Sonic, like when Mogul still triumphed over Ixis Naugus despite his resistance to mental attacks like the insanity of the Zone of Silence.

  • Non-Corporeality/Multidimensional Existence - Franklin's Astral Form is non-corporeal and he is a Pan-Dimensional being, while the Chaos Force is outside the corporeal world and a higher dimension in of itself. It should mostly even out, but Franklin's nature as a natural being of this sort leads to his being better in it

  • Pain Manipulation - Franklin is capable of making people feel pain, and Knuckles could resist a pair collar via Chaos Energy. On the flipside, past Echidna guardians have forced extraordinary pain on people, while Moonshade (who had Franklin's powers) felt no pain. Fairly straightforward.

  • Power Amplification - Drawing on more of their power sources can amplify their physical strength, so neither really hold an edge here.

  • Sealing - Titan Tails is capable of sealing foes inside something like a Chaos Emerald. Nicholas Scratch, when using Franklin's powers, was going to reverse a similar spell from Agatha Harkness, one of the greatest sorcerers in creation. It's likely he could escape or resist such phenomena.

  • Size Manipulation - Scaling to Master Mogul, Tails could likely grow large enough to hold universes in his hands. Franklin has shown AOE in battles enough to affect entire universes and beyond, so this shouldn't be too much of a problem.

  • Support/Allies - Tails can clone himself, and summon familiars in the form of Flickies. Franklin can make dozens of psychic projections with far stronger scaling chains, let alone other powers like bringing objects to life or crafting Illusions.

Curse/Wishes

Before we get on to the main meat of the debate, let's discuss two of Tails most potent methods: Chaos Curses, and Chaos Wishes. In the case of the former, the Ancient Walkers cursed the Chaos Emerald Mogul had, so that all of his greatest schemes would fall flat. Mogul himself compares this to the fates residing on another's side, and grew so tired of this he resigned to just…waiting until Sonic dies of old age. Having fate on your side would be a good advantage for Tails, and so would his Wishes. These are able to do something like BFR far more powerful beings, such as Nate Morgan doing the same with a single ring to Ugly Naugus, who had thousands at the time and was battling Ultra Sonic/Hyper Tails. This gives precedence to Tails potentially being able to affect Franklin with any of his hax, or simply wish him out of existence. Surprisingly, Franklin once more has counters to both of these.

Remember how Chaos is Magic? Well, Franklin has been able to counteract and destroy magic spells made by some of Marvel's greatest sorcerers, like Agatha Harkness and her sealing spell on Nicholas Scratch. Given his higher power output overall, it's likely he could resist such a curse born out of Magic, and the same would be true for the Wishes. As insanely powerful as they are to warp entire multiverses and beyond like the Super Genesis Wave, they aren't totally full-proof. They have openly failed to fix time-space alterations once Sigma caused enough paradoxes and issues to all of reality in the past. There isn't much proof these Wishes can reliably eradicate a being leagues stronger than anything in Tails’ own reality, and especially one who can already counter magic spells.

Power Nullification/Altering

This is perhaps one of the more intricate aspects of the debate. Tails has a few methods to potentially mess with Franklin's powers outright, and will be discussed here. The first is how Chaos Force users have forcibly stopped others from using powers, like Feist blocking Shadow's powers or Finnetivus preventing people from accessing the Master Emerald. Furthering this, he can absorb energy to enter his Superforms, and there's obviously the big one; Titan Tails potentially absorbing all of Franklin's powers.

Starting off on these, the power nullification in Archie Sonic can be resisted by other Chaos Users through more Chaos, and given Franklin's higher power overall, it's unlikely this would affect him very much. The Energy Tails absorbed to get into his superforms was due to Power Rings abilities to harness Chaos Energy, which is how Superforms come about in the first place. However, even their potential can be destroyed, and this wouldn't protect the Rings themselves from direct destruction or any of Franklin's other abilities. Finally, let's talk about Titan Tails.

Now, to start, let's discuss what exactly the ability is. Tails used it to drain the entirety of the Chaos Force from Master Mogul, rendering him defenseless and gaining the abilities of it for himself. He did this mere moments after starting their battle, showcasing he won't prolong things when the danger is clear, and is quite willing to jump straight to it. When compared to Franklin, it's quite the issue. His power supply comes from Godpower, which is an infinite supply of energy in an extradimensional realm, just like the Chaos Force, which Tails drained. However, it's more than likely he has answers to this.

For one thing, his powers have been drained several times before, and he's resisted the process (physically anyway); still able to act in the meantime. His powers have also regenerated on their own when stolen in the case of Occulus, which was specifically stated that all of his power had to be taken at once or it would come back. This means that Tails needs to drain every last bit of Energy from Franklin before he can counter to win, which is going to be increasingly hard given the other details. With his wide array of options for reading Tails mind, predicting his moves via his future sight, or finding out all about his powers, Franklin has plenty of methods to find out about this method and the danger it bears. Even if he is in the process of being drained, he would still be able to act in the midst of this to stop the process via any of his powers, or worse, redirect the energy drain back onto Tails himself. Franklin has shown able to do this with others powers before, which is important, as a drain that removes the entirety of energy from people is exactly how characters in Archie Sonic have drained Chaos powers, like the Chaos Siphon. Thus, Franklin has several methods to avoid, counter, or reverse the effects of this power steal. This is of course not even discussing the recent example from Power Pack: Into The Storm, where someone attempted to steal Franklin's powers for a transfer to himself, and Franklin simply ignoring this and defeating said foe in a battle of wills. Combine this with his higher mental fortitude, and its likely the same will happen here.

On the flipside, Franklin once more has wider ways to use his powers in order to mess with Tails’ own. His already mentioned energy redirection means he can always redirect Tails’ moves right back at him, which other Chaos users like Dark Future Enerjak have been defeated by before. He can nullify powers himself, and while Chaos users can resist these effects and something like power reduction, Franklin's higher power should reasonably be able to overcome this given how stronger characters like Feist have affected Shadow initially. Ergo, Franklin should bypass these resistances, at least in Tails’ lower forms. Another useful power is his ability to siphon the life-force of other characters at will. While characters like Enerjak (Knuckles) have resisted such abilities in the form of the Egg Grapes, this still drained and weakened him a fair amount, and other cases like Mogul prove he needs continuous energy to do so. Franklin's energy draining affected characters even as powerful as the Phoenix without him directly trying, so it should at the very least be a large problem for Tails. Pair this with his other methods of redirecting his powers or otherwise, and Franklin has several means to come out victorious in the scuffle, despite the danger of the power siphon.

Summary

So, as far as their abilities go, Franklin would solidly prevail. His psionic abilities extend to greater lengths and to more haxy abilities such as shutting Tails’ brain off to leave his body open, on top of more experience/skill using powers like illusions and mental duels. Franklin has more experience controlling time and space, though both can reliably counter something like BFR. Franklin is more skilled in transmutation and can counter Tails own, and is LEAGUES more proficient in reality warping. His technology manipulation allows him to shut off basically any and all weapons or vehicles that Prower would use, such as the Tornado. Both have similar types of immortality and healing, but Tails can't reliably return from the types of annihilation Franklin can weaponize, or scattering his substance across dimensions. Further powers like cloning, summoning back-up, creation, knowledge grants, and pain manipulation mostly even out…but not entirely. As far as these miscellaneous tools go, Franklin has much more experience in creating, greater mental resistances, superior Intangibility and astral form, can summon psychic projections and bring things to life for superior allies, or resist sealing like Titan Tails did to Mogul. In terms of Tails' more successful abilities like curses, wishing him away, or stealing his abilities, Franklin has reliable answers to these as well. He can counter magic spells and is leagues stronger, so the former two likely won't work for that same reason. As for stealing his powers away, Tails needs to be 100% successful without Franklin doing anything to stop him lest they return, which includes his being able to turn this power steal right back at him, and be aware of the danger beforehand through tactics like mind reading or precognition. Franklin simply has better abilities when looking at the vast majority, counters or answers to all of Tails best win-conditions, and a greater skill in utilizing these powers to their best.

Tertiary Factors

Concerning these, both have their advantages, like how Tails is definitely smarter. He's used technology far more on his missions and repaired/hacked it just as easily, set up numerous brilliant plans in advance, and overall is a more brain based fighter. However, this by itself isn't really that much of an advantage. Franklin may use his brains less but that doesn't mean he isn't as impressive mentally. The brainpower required to use his powers, like stabilizing the chemical reactions of a star, is just as impressive as Tails’ showings, and likely more so. He's matched wits with his brilliant sister Valeria before, so he'd be able to outplay Tails in the long run given his other advantages.

In terms of actual skill and experience, they are similar in quantity, but in quality? Not so much. Tails has fought his fair share of world-conquering demigods thousands of years old, but Franklin has done the same to being as old as time itself, and in much more frequent encounters. Tails own experiences using versatile powers like Chaos Magic aren't as wide or impressive as Franklin's, and he falls short in overall skill at using these compared to Franklin. Comparing their power sources, both can fight for virtually an endless amount of time, but Franklin has more successful means to counteract thud and defend his own energy reserves.

Conclusion

Tails

Advantages

  • Matches in speed

  • Has a potential win-condition in his power drain…

  • Equal in versatility…

  • Smarter all things considered…

  • Similar skill and experience

  • Titan Tails fanart

  • Mina Mongoose and his family in 15 years later

Disadvantages:

  • Much, much weaker

  • …But Franklin has plenty of counters to it

  • …But is far less experienced in utilizing this versatility and is nowhere near as creative.

  • …But Franklin is no slouch himself

  • Titan Tails looks stupid

  • Fiona Fox

Franklin

Advantages:

  • Takes overall power by a country mile

  • Similar in speed

  • Equal in versatility, but leagues more creative with it and applications of his powers

  • Has superior abilities in reach and effect in most cases

  • Wields counters to all of Tails best win-conditions

  • Is a veritable genius in his own right so Tails couldn't easily outsmart him

  • Similar skill and experience

  • Has Spider-Man as a half-uncle

Disadvantages:

  • Potentially vulnerable to Titan Tails power steal…but not really honestly

  • Tails is smarter overall

  • Hasn't appeared in any media besides comics

  • Professor Xavier is a piece of shit

So, in short, Franklin wins pretty solidly. While Tails can match in speed, he can never hope to touch Franklin in raw power. Franklin is overall more skilled in using his abilities, which are also better than Tails’ own more often than not. Tertiary matters lean somewhat to Tails, but Franklin has much more experience and skill where it counts. However, bigger than all of this is Franklin's biggest advantage: Creativity. Both of these heroes can do anything they can imagine, and Franklin is simply far more impressive in that regard. He has used his abilities for much more impressive feats, hax abilities, and tricks beyond what Tails has shown. And so, because of all of this, this Titan of the multiverse has met his match, and despite all the Chaos he could Force onto his foe, nothing could four-tell his victory.

The winner…is Franklin Richards.

Final Tally

Tails (1) - SonallyKingKataang (Someone had to be the pity vote this time, plus Fate should bend to him, right Mav)

Franklin Richards (9) - Brokenlimit, Frisk683, Iceking, Mav, Robot972, Round 1 Fight, The Cardinal King, Toxin T Taker

Before We Go

So. About time huh? I'm sorry it took so long (life's been annoying recently) but I'm proud as I can possibly be to finally release this. I've been passionate about this match for over a year now, and I don't normally do this, but I would like to speak on why I do.

For connections, these two are similar in the following.

  • Both are child - teenage heroes of a mutated/genetically altered team of heroes in their worlds (Freedom Fighters and Fantastic Four) with a cosmic destiny concerning the greater multiverse ultimately that places them on a pedestal beyond everyone else.

  • They were born to great heroes (Amadeus and Rosemary Prower and Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman) and grew up fighting for the forces of good both with their familial team, and in adventures to different lands all on their own (Tails miniseries adventures and Franklin’s own time spent with the Power Pack) due to their wish to be heroes not looked down upon for their age.

  • Both take the place of “little brother” on the team, and frequently showcase this in heartwarming moments with their elders, like an older sister of sorts (Tails comforting Bunnie Rabbot over her becoming a cyborg in Post-Genesis and Franklin saving Kitty Pryde's life while helping her cope with her then-permanent intangibility).

  • There powers at their best, tied to an extradimensional power sources others use (Chaos Force and Godpower) enable them to do anything they imagine, like fell God's and ultimately bring about Cosmic rebirth (Tails remaking the multiverse after Mogul's rampage and heralding the Great Awakening and Franklin taking part in the 9th iteration of Marvel's Omniverse).

  • Both of them, despite their talents, have a problem with believing they are ultimately powerless or inadequate

    • Tails has frequently expressed annoyance and sadness with people simplifying him to “a mere child” despite his stopping Mogul, and this doubles when he gets made a fool out of, like his battle with Honey in the tournament during Sonic Unleashed. Franklin, in-canon, is always associated with the 5 year old with unlimited potential, similar to Beethoven writing a concerto at 12. So, he rewrote his own biology, prematurely aging himself, but that scared everyone. So he gave himself limits, and tried being a hero like other kids his age, like with the Power Pack, so one day he would get to go on adventures with the FF. But Psi-Lord got to go instead, and now he's his age, nothing like him, and that makes it worse. Then, he met himself from the future who was perfect, who he had to become and save everything, so he feels he's not enough no matter what, that he'll always end up letting everybody down.

  • They would eventually get past these tragic mental doubts to become great heroes in their adulthood (Tails in 10 years later and Franklin's adult self) who saved reality time and time again.

There's probably another list I could come up with, but those suffice to grab my interest. I love both these characters, and after reading all of their comics and appearances myself, I believe this match is the best both have to offer. Their childlike joy, creativity you can use in a fight animation, and purity of their stories would make a fantastic episode (pun fully intended) and allow the writers to go crazy in every way possible. More than that, I want this because it can bring Franklin into the eyes of you all. He is one of the most well-written and heartwarming characters I have ever read about, and it's genuinely saddening for me to watch as he stays inside the comic's, while no medium like cartoons, movies, and games uses him. His childlike nature has brought forth such adoring moments like saving a tragic spirit on Christmas, saving Kitty Pryde's life and dancing with her in a time of sadness, saving his sister Valeria's life, and even things like comforting her when he passed his driver's test and she didn't. He has maintained this lovable nature throughout his years, and even met some of my greatest heroes; Superman and Spider-Man. I truly and utterly love reading about Franklin Richards, and I hope you will too after reading this blog. I hope you'll come to love this match as much as I do, and I'm so happy you decided to read this passion project of mine. Thank you, and I'll see you in my next wave of Blogs!

Next Time…
